3 Ways to Increase Sales for Your Product Based BusinessSep 21, 2021
Why whenever someone says the word "sales" do we all get this yucky feeling? It's probably because, at one point or another in your life, you had a less than positive selling experience. Maybe the person was pushy, or just wouldn't take no for an answer. Either way, the word "sales" has gotten a pretty bad rap lately.
But it doesn't have to be that way.
If you start doing these three things tomorrow, you'll notice your sales drastically increase, and not just immediately, but over the long-term as well.
The first thing you want to do is to outline your customer journey. When someone lands on your website, your Instagram, etc. what do you want them to do. Then what? Then after that? Your ultimate goal should be to figure out a journey from why they landed on your page to whatever product you have that they need (and maybe something they didn't know they needed 😉).
The smoother the customer journey, the more the sale at the end makes sense. When your content is all over the place, then your throw a post selling in the middle of it, your audience gets confused. It doesn't make sense to them. Start making selling make sense within the context of your content.
The second thing is to start getting better at handling objections. Better yet, start realizing what objections are. They aren't a no, but they are a question. The person simply wants clarification about something, but we freeze up and assume that it means no. No means no, not a question.
A tip that we used to do was come with a prepared list of three objections we thought we might get during calls. This helped us feel more prepared, especially in the beginning, when speaking in front of customers and potential investors was scary for us.
The last thing is to practice what I like to call "subtle selling." If you look throughout all our content across all our social media platforms, you'll notice that we don't really do a lot of selling. In fact, I'd say it's less than 1%. Why would we do this?!
Because we let the selling do itself.
People aren't dumb. They can see what we do, who we are, what we've achieved, and that we're the real deal. We don't have to put, "click the link in our bio to sign up for our services" every day for people to go check our services out. They just do.
And people will for your products too. You just have to give them a chance to!
