How to 10X Your Social Media Engagement

How's your engagement been lately???

If you're anything like the people that we've been talking to, it's down . . . and most likely across all platforms.  This seems to be the resounding opinion we've heard through Clubhouse and various other social platforms.  With more and more businesses realizing the power of social media, it can seem like social media overall is becoming saturated.

Don't believe it, because it isn't true.

Yes, there may be more businesses on social media now more than ever, but that doesn't mean that your business can't stand out and get more engagement in 2021.  Today I want to talk to you about the main strategy that we use to get more engagement across all of our social media channels, and how we use that engagement and turn it into business.

The main problem we see when auditing businesses' social media content is that their content strategy revolves around creating content that worked 2-3 years ago.  What do I mean by this?  Well 2-3 years ago, you used to be able to put up a single picture, a quote, etc., and get really good engagement on it.  Those days are now gone.

They've been replaced by short-form video.  Why?  Because in 2021 (and beyond), people crave authenticity and realness above anything else.  Video allows people to see you in real-time, unfiltered, sharing your thoughts and expertise.

Sticking with the theme of using video, people also want to get to know the people behind the brand.  This is why LIVE video is so important and so successful.  People can talk to you in real-time, get live updates, and really get a chance to know you personally.

So here is the strategy that we use to increase the engagement to our social media accounts.  This can work on Instagram, TikTok, and basically any other platform that you can go live on.  What we do is create a short-form video, optimized for whatever platform it is going on (if you have questions about this, please reach out).  

After we post, we spend the next 5 minutes engaging on other people's posts across the platform.  This can be on your friend's post, on the explore page, wherever you want.  The main thing is you want to show the platform that you are active and engaging.

The last thing we do is after we engage, we go live.  Now, how long you go live is up to you, but just know that it can take up to 30 minutes for the various algorithms to pick up and push out the fact that you've gone live.  So my suggestion would be to go live for at least 30 minutes, an hour if you can.  Now you don't have to do this every day, but if you do this AT LEAST once a week, you will notice the engagement on your account increase exponentially.

You may not see an initial boost right away.  It took our accounts a couple of weeks before we started to notice the difference, but when we did, it was insane!  The views on our reels and TikTok's would go from a couple of hundred to over 20K in an hour, just by going live!  Don't sleep on the power of going live for your audience!

Increasing your engagement doesn't have to be difficult, you just have to have the right strategy and then, most importantly, BE CONSISTENT!
