What Do I Do If Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp Go Down?

If you're reading this right now, you might have tried to open your Instagram and freaked out to realize that it didn't open!

Relax, everything is okay . . . we think.

As of right now, Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp are currently down, with no news about when they will be back up again.  Now we could get into all the gossip about why this is the case, but that's not what this blog is about.

This blog is about what to do as a business owner if you use these social media platforms and you all of the sudden find yourself unable to use them.

Now, I'm sure that you've heard a million times, "Make sure and get people off your social media platforms and onto your email list."  If you've been doing that, then you're in a great position.  Simply send an email out to all of your subscribers talking about the outage, and if you have content scheduled for those platforms, you can always use it in your email sequence as a chance to then sell a product or service.

But maybe this ISN'T the case . . .

Say, for instance, you don't have a large email list, or primarily most of your business is on, for example, Instagram.  Our suggestion would be to start exploring other social media platforms WHILE growing your email list more aggressively.

The scary thing about Facebook is that it owns Instagram AND WhatsApp.  So if something goes wrong with one, there's also a scare that something might happen to another platform or as we're now seeing, ALL OF THEM.

Start looking at Tik Tok, Pinterest, LinkedIn, Snapchat, etc., and ask yourself if it'd make sense for your business to be on any of these platforms.
