At the end of the day, not all activities are created equal, and most business owners find themselves getting stuck in the day-to-day grind of being a business owner, rather than spending their time on things like innovation, expansion, and strategy.
If this is you, that's okay, because that was us for years! We got so stuck in the cycle of posting on social media, engaging, writing blogs, etc. for over a year, then quickly realized that wasn't making nearly as much in our business as we should. The reason was we weren't focusing on the things we knew we needed to.
So what are some things that you can do to help you get out of the grind, and get back to doing the most important things for your business? In this blog, we'll give you three easy things you can do to start that process today!
The first you can do is raise your prices. The honest truth is that most business owners aren't charging what their product/services are worth, and that's hurting everyone, not just the business owner. It hurts their industry because it affects overall pricing, it affects the consumer because then they get an unrealistic perception of the pricing for that industry, and lastly, it hurts the business owner because they make less.
Making less is the reason why you're not able to hire people to do the day-to-day stuff you're doing right now. If you raise your prices, it allows you to re-invest that money back into your business. This allows you to hire yes but also helps you scale quickly because your time is now freed up to scale, find more clients, etc.
If you're not at a place where you can raise your prices, then another thing you can do is set aside time at the BEGINNING of your day to work on the most important things. We have the most energy, physically and mentally, in the morning, so take advantage of it. You're going to be bombarded with all that other stuff later, so make sure the morning is yours to do what you know you need to do.
The third thing you can do is hire an intern. I had honestly never thought of this till we started getting reached out to by interns asking if they could work for us and get the experience and recommendation. So if you're bogged down with simple tasks like emails, filing, anything that you might hire a VA for, look into hiring an intern. They can do the work remotely, and it's a great way to teach someone new about the industry you're in.
So there you have it: three ways that you can start to get out of the day-to-day grind and back into the things that matter in your business!
